Seminar Presentation on "Engineering Standards"

A Seminar was presented on "Engineering Standards" on October 13, 2015 during Period 3 by Mr.Elaf Mahrous, lecturer in Mechanical Engineering department, at Mechanical Engineering conference room. The main theme of the presentation was to highlight the different standards namely API, ASME, TEMA, AGMA, ASNT, AWS and ISO which are widely used in industries and also emphasized the importance of these standards in Senior Design Project in fulfilling the ABET criteria. The seminar also highlighted the purpose of developing and adhering to standards to ensure minimum performance, meet safety requirements, make sure that the product/system/process is consistent and repeatable, and provide for interfacing with other standard-compliant equipment (ensure compatibility).
