INDUSTRIAL VISIT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Mechanical Engineering Sophomore students visited Gulf Steel Works Company on 03rd April, and Jubail Energy Services Company (JESCO) on 06th April, 2016 in Jubail Industrial City. Industrial visits represent important activity in mechanical Engineering undergraduate programme that contributes to the achievement of various essential learning outcomes.
Industrial visit is an integral part of Manufacturing Process course and every year the students are taken to various industries in Jubail Industrial City. The purpose of the visit is to expose the students of the Mechanical Engineering to experience the industrial environment. The Gulf Steel Works (GSW) is leading Steel fabricators of process equipment & heavy steel structures for the hydrocarbon processing industries (oil, gas & petrochemicals), Fertilizers, Process Chemical and primary utilities (Power generation & water desalination), whereas JESCO manufactures seamless pipes.
The visit was successfully organized with the support of the Community Services Department. The students were accompanied by Dr. Bagas Wardono, Dr. Mohammed Imbaby, Mr. Taher Mohiuddin, Mr. Saad Al-Garni and Mr. Anas Souwailem from the Department. The industrial visit to Gulf Steel Works was facilitated with the help of Mr. Hussain Mohammed Al-Sukairi and supervised by an Alumni of Jubail University College, Mr. Raed Abu Jubara. He enlightened the students about the various fabrication activities and application of the products being fabricated. At JESCO the visit was supervised by Mr. Khalil Abdullah Al Essa.
Students were very keen to observe various manufacturing activities and it helped them in better understanding of the fabrication of different products.
