The undergraduate program "Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) Program", in the Department of Computer science and Engineering, Jubail University College, Saudi Arabia is accredited by CAC- the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org and National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA)
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one of the leading departments of Jubail University College, which started in 2007. The Department currently offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (CS) and plans to submit proposal for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (COE) in the near future. The language of instruction is English. Students are enrolled in the department after successful completion of the preparatory year program. They are prepared for university study through specially designed courses that includes courses in English, mathematics and information technology. The CS program is offered to males and females alike.
The curriculum covers a wide range of computer related topics such as computer programming, computer engineering and organization, algorithmic design and analysis, software engineering, database systems, computer network systems, operating systems, artificial intelligence, computer security, web engineering and development. In addition, students go through field training courses where they spend the last semester in a company or public or private institution to learn how to apply the knowledge they acquire from the program in a realistic environment
Academic faculty members are from different backgrounds with academic qualifications in all disciplines related to computer science. The department provides practical learning opportunities and industry-recognized programs that provide students with the right knowledge and problem solving skills in the real world. Graduates of this program are highly qualified professionals who are able to work in a variety of technical roles immediately after graduation. Computer Science graduates can work as software developers, software engineering specialists, IT analysts, database administrators, computer network administrators, computer security specialists, web application developers, mobile application developers, etc.
